We are very excited to have new toys for our sandpit!
We are looking forward to the new sand coming later in the term to give us more scope for our construction work.
Today in the junior room was Pancake Day. We had pancake stories, pancake poems, pancake maths, we made pancakes and we had pancake races. It was a fun day and special to have our preschoolers with us.
On Monday 3 December Macraes Moonlight School sang the National Anthem at the Citizenship Ceremony in Oamaru. Fourteen people became New Zealand Citizens. We felt important singing in front of so many people from different countries.
Following on from our visit to see The Gruffalo Show we have been doing lots about the Gruffalo. We have done gruffalo maths, gruffalo writing, and on Monday we made Gruffalo Crumble. James was going to catch us a gruffalo in the weekend but he got busy planting strawberries so we used bananas and raspberries instead! The seniors were busy with a maths test while we were baking so they were very excited to get a morning tea treat.
We have been learning about light and colours. We found out that bright colours are best for us to wear for safety. Dark colours are hard for cars to see especially if it is getting dark. Have a look at our science board!
