Here is another photo of our goggles. They look very real. It was fun gluing on the screws and nuts and bolts and then putting a gold wash over.

Following on from our visit to see The Gruffalo Show we have been doing lots about the Gruffalo. We have done gruffalo maths, gruffalo writing, and on Monday we made Gruffalo Crumble. James was going to catch us a gruffalo in the weekend but he got busy planting strawberries so we used bananas and raspberries instead! The seniors were busy with a maths test while we were baking so they were very excited to get a morning tea treat.

We have been learning about light and colours. We found out that bright colours are best for us to wear for safety. Dark colours are hard for cars to see especially if it is getting dark. Have a look at our science board!

An amazing find in Macraes!
Today Mr O'Connell was excited to find this object in his paddock and brought it into school for us to learn about! There was a sheet attached to it that told us it was a scientific recording device from NIWA in Lauder. It had traveled 75km in 1 day! It is used to study the Ozone Layer. We have lots of questions for the scientists from NIWA!

We started practising our clay masks. It was fun working with the clay. I liked it. I made a face of a boy that was looking at something weird.

Today we made a rainbow. We got a mirror and a bowl of water. We let the sunlight fall on the mirror. We held a piece of paper in front of the mirror and the colours of the rainbow were on the paper. By Harmony

Using our mirrors was fun this afternoon. Why did we look upside down? Why did we look far away? The bendy mirror was fun to use too.

SPRING into SPRING!!!
Time to enjoy the fabulous weather and enjoy birdnesting!!!
What do you think I will find up this tree?
Leaf Diving!
Autumn is a fantastic time to leap around in leaves!!!
We took turns at raking up the leaves, into big piles and then ran and jumped or dived into the pile!
At first I thought it would hurt, but I learnt it was a very soft landing.
If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, get outside and get amongst it!!!
